Full Name: Chimeric p53-Penetratin Anti-Cancer Peptide

Three Steps to Kill Cancer Cells (Poptosis)
0–5 Minutes: PNC-27 binds to membrane-bound HDM-2 in a 1:1 ratio.
5–15 Minutes: Multiple complexes aggregate and self-assemble into annular pores measuring 30–50 nm.
30–180 Minutes: The pores puncture the cell membrane → Ion imbalance, cellular swelling, and mitochondrial rupture ensue → Rapid lytic death (poptosis/necrosis).
Additional Effects
Upon entering the cancer cell, it disrupts the mitochondrial membrane, accelerating cell death.
Independent of p53 mutation status: Effective against both p53 wild-type and p53-deficient cancer cells.
